Losing weight can seem like a daunting task: while putting on the pounds is quite easy, shedding them off at times takes a lot of effort. A lot of the time we can’t make too many compromises due to our filled to the brim schedules and our stressful life.
However, there’s a trick you need to know when it comes to weight loss: working out doesn’t burn all that many calories, and the most significant weight loss comes from making long-term changes to your diet.
For example, while we have been told endlessly that fat is bad and makes us get fat (duh !) it’s actually not to simple: it is carbohydrates that have the most impact when it comes to weight loss and overall health.
While fat is used right away, carbohydrates are stored in your cells and turn into “stored fat”, which is more difficult to burn. So make small changes in your diet by giving up or replacing the carbs with something healthier: instead of using a tortilla wrap, use a big leaf of lettuce.
You want some pasta ? Use zucchini noodles instead.
Learn how to make cauliflower rice, or cauliflower pizza crust. Your diet can still be fulfilling and delicious if you make some compromises.
Also, rethink your choices: juices are not as healthy as you think, since they are much more easy to consume, less filling, and usually have a lot more calories and sugar than just eating the fruit. So replace that glass of juice for the actual fruit.
Did you know that there’s up to 100 calories in a spoonful of Caesar salad dressing ?
Just as a reminder that you don’t have to give up every single delicious thing to make an actual change in your diet: it is OK to have that one bit of unhealthy food in your diet, as long as it’s done in moderation.
